When devastating floods ravaged Minot and other parts of North Dakota this summer, Nodak Mutual Insurance Company responded by helping its fellow residents. So with the employees and agents, Nodak Mutual has donated a combined $50,000 toward flood relief in the state.

On September 12, 2011 at the "Bring Back the Magic" telethon in Minot, Nodak Mutual Insurance Company presented a $35,000 check to the Minot Area Community Foundation's Minot Recovery Fund. All proceeds will target low and middle income families with material vouchers to help keep them in their homes in Minot.

In addition, Nodak Mutual along with its employees and agents donated another $15,000 to the American Red Cross Minn-Kota chapter September 13, 2011.  The $15,000 was raised as part of a flood relief challenge issued by the nearly 70 Nodak Mutual agents who participated. 

"Nodak Mutual Insurance agents have a long history of helping the residents and communities we serve in North Dakota," says Mike Bruckbauer, a longtime Fargo agent who spearheaded the challenge program. "We're fortunate to work and live in a state where we pitch in together during difficult times. The money raised will help in some small way the families affected by flooding this year."

"The Red Cross has provided food, shelter, and emotional support to thousands of North Dakotans this year," says Tom Tezel, Regional Emergency Services Director, "We couldn't do what we do without the generous support of individuals and organizations like Nodak Mutual Insurance. On behalf of the staff, volunteers and the people we serve, we thank Nodak Mutual for their strong sense of community and philanthropic spirit."
