A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of A- to Nodak Mutual Insurance Company and Nodak Mutual Group, which includes the companies of Nodak Mutual Insurance, American West Insurance and Battle Creek (Neb.) Mutual Insurance.

AM Best states the ratings and outlooks of both Nodak Mutual Insurance and Nodak Mutual Group have been affirmed despite the severe weather-related losses experienced during 2011.

The ratings reflect the risk-adjusted capitalization and operating performance of both entities that was sustained due to management's strong risk-management practices.
