FARGO, ND - Nodak Insurance Company has announced its 75th anniversary as a leading North Dakota insurer.
The company began in April 1946, when 100 North Dakota Farm Bureau members pooled together to form an insurance company for its farmers and ranchers.
Nodak Insurance has since grown into a multi-state operation with an AM Best rating of A (Excellent). Nodak is also consistently named to the Ward's Top 50 Property/Casualty Companies list.
“I want to thank our employees and our agents for all that they have done to make this company the success that it is today,” says President and CEO Jim Alexander. “Our roots are here and they always will be here. We will continue to be a major player in the insurance industry in North Dakota.”

Once known as Nodak Mutual Insurance Company, Nodak transitioned from a mutual company to a stock company in March 2017. Its stock holding company, NI Holdings, Inc., is listed and traded on NASDAQ (NODK). As of March 2021, premium writings are at $314 million with a company surplus of $265 million.
