WHAT IS AN INLAND FLOOD
Three ways water finds its way in the home
Flooding isn't only a coastal or hurricane event. Inland or flash floods happen quietly and quickly, often close to home.
Overflow
Streams or rivers rise beyond their banks and partially or completely inundate normally dry land.
Rapid accumulation
Unusually fast rain, runoff, or snowmelt that can't drain away or soak into the ground fast enough.
Mudflow
Fast-moving water that picks up mud and debris as it travels, carrying it into homes and yards.
WHAT'S COVERED
The Inland Flood Coverage includes
Residence and certain other structures such as sheds, pool houses, and similar structures
Temporary living expenses if your home isn't habitable
Personal belongings - even in a basement

EVERY HOME IS AT RISK
The most common disaster in America doesn't check zone maps
"Flood is the most frequently occurring natural disaster in the United States."

It has impacted every state, and homeowners in low-to-moderate risk areas are often the ones left without coverage for flood losses. We have you covered.
Inland Flood is an affordable enhancement to a homeowner's policy that provides coverage for losses caused by an
overflow of inland waters such as a lake or stream, or an unusual and rapid, sudden accumulation or runoff of
surface waters from any source, including, but not limited to, rainfall, ice melt, or mudflow.
Anywhere it rains, it can flood. As our climate changes, the risk of financial loss from flooding for millions
of homeowners is increasing. Homeowners that are located in low-to-moderate flood zones are eligible for this
affordable coverage. Your agent can help determine if this coverage may be right for you and your home.
Homeowners in a single or multiple family dwelling (excluding mobile or manufactured homes, condos and apartments)
in all FEMA flood zones except those beginning with A and V prefixes or in surge exposed areas are eligible for
coverage. Note: This Inland Flood Coverage does not satisfy federally regulated mortgage lender requirements, nor
affiliated with the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
Yes. These coverages protect property from two separate losses. A water backup and sump discharge or overflow
endorsement typically provides coverage for water or waterborne material that backs up through sewers or
drains or overflows from a sump, sump pump, or related equipment.
However, a water backup endorsement excludes water backup or overflow caused by flood or sudden water.
Each property or home will have its own flood risk score zone (1-10), and is not the same definition or scored
the same as the NFIP flood zones. Nodak Insurance Company agents can help determine your property's Inland
Flood risk score and associated annual premium to see if the coverage is right for your home.
Inland Flood protection is available with coverage limits of $10,000 up to $50,000 with deductibles ranging from $500
to $1,000. For occurrence limits greater than $15,000, basement personal property and loss of use is limited to $15,000.
Nodak Insurance Company agents can help determine appropriate Inland Flood Coverage for your specific property.
