Nodak Mutual Insurance Company and its agents presented a check to Career Agent David Kent for $3,210 toward the Northwood Relief Fund.

Nodak Mutual agent Mike Bruckbauer of Fargo said he received a call from a fellow agent inquiring if Nodak Mutuals agents would do anything to help in the Northwood recovery. Bruckbauer, who is president of the agents association, sent an email to his counterparts asking for donations and they responded generously.

"The clients expect their insurance company to step up and pay claims on their policy," Bruckbauer says. "It's when we go above and beyond as agents and a company to show that we really care and come up with money out of our pockets ... it really shows we feel about our friends and fellow North Dakotans."

All donations collected from the agents were matched by the corporate office. Pat Duncan, vice president of Shared Services for Nodak Mutual, and Kent gave the check to Northwood Mayor Richard Johnson on September 13.

"Beyond being an insurance company, we are a North Dakota company who feels it is both a privilege and an obligation to assist North Dakotans in their time of need." Duncan says.
